Welcome to St James
Woodside!
St James Woodside is an Anglican church
located in
Horsforth, NW Leeds and is part of the Ripon and Leeds dioceses.
It is both a friendly and lively church that
supports modern
and
traditional styles of worship. Worship is accompanied by either the
Organist and Choir or the church music group. Here modern and
traditional songs of worship
are sung and periods of prayer take place in a friendly
atmosphere.
The congregation spans all age groups but is
particularly
popular
with young families. A créche is provided at family services
and
children of school age have activities provided for them by church
members. The church takes youth development very seriously and employs
a trainee youth worker.
Visitors and new members will be made welcome and
find the
atmosphere informal and friendly.
Who's
Who at St. James:
At the moment we are awaiting the
arrival of our new Vicar, Richard Dimery, who will be licensed on
Wednesday 30th April. In the meanwhile we are fortunate to have the
support of a recently retired Clergyman, Brian Lipscombe, three
licensed readers and the support of a wide range of the members of the
congregation involved in all sorts of tasks - the life of the Church
continues!
